Every now and then something special happens in our life. It may be something as big and as life changing as getting married. Or as simple as baby taking its first step. Big or small these milestones are all "scrappable" moments - the perfect subjects for a layout (or two).
Children's lives have many obvious milestones and those of us who are parents love to record them. Messy faced babies exploring solids for the first time and excited children attending their first day at school are traditional inspriation for pages. Life's ceremonies also provide fertile subject matter. Birthdays and weddings are occasions where it is easy to get overwealmed by the sheer number of photos. Try picking or two favourites or use elements like film strips and frames to make using multiple photos easy.
Don't forget to record the milestones in your own life, be they happy or otherwise. Have you learned a new skill, lost some weight, competed in a sporting event, got a new job or a new home? Why not make a page about it?
Remember, you don't necessarily need a kit with the right "theme". Think about the tone of the layout (excitement, sadness, joy, determination) and pick colours and embellishments that create that feeling in you.

Feeling orange? Club Digital is this month. An obvious choice for all of those Autumn layouts with their rich, warm colours but also great for those just coming out of winter and into spring. Orange will spice up any layout giving it energy and vibrance. Softer hues, like those in the Seasons of Delight kit, are flattering to skin tones and are a wonderful choice for more contemplative layouts.
For those who have Halloween or pumpkin picking photos, check out the alpha and wordart this month (and don't forget the alpha can be recoloured to make it even more vesatile). For busy parents with children starting school, the First day plopper makes a quick page (and can be used for non school type layouts - Vickimp used it to record her baby's first day in the world). With a stamp set perfect for "boy" layouts, a terrific new font by Suzanne Walker and a new Quick Click for and easy page, this months Club Digital is packed with variety and value.

Quiet Moments Page Kit by D- DSP Designers Soft and gentle design elements. I used this for a page with an infant who had passed, created the perfect "quiet moment".~Shayla S
Beautiful Soul Page Kit by D- Rene Bross Subtle elegance of design and colors allows this kit to fit a wide variety of pages. The hardest part is deciding which idea to use first.~Shayla S
Everyday Quick Click by D- Tina Chambers This quick click is so great for telling a story of a special event because it includes a focal photo and journaling space in addition to the many smaller photos. I used it for photos of an outing at an apple orchard and pumpkin patch with my niece and her family and you can see at a glance what the event was like.~Maureen H
Lacee Page Kit by D- Marcee Duggar Breathtakingly beautiful papers and elements. Marcee's blue and tan floral papers are so lovely they make a layout almost by themselves. I used one as an overlay, masking out for the photo. A matching fancy deckle frame is included and the jeweled butterflies are a wonderful finishing touch.~Maureen H
Somebunny To Love Page Kit by D- Tina Chambers This kit reminds me of much loved children's books. I fell in love with the bunny line art and one of the background papers even has a bunny. The kit also includes some great word art.~Maureen H
These Moments Page Kit by D- Tina Chambers Oh my gosh, look at the bright pure colors in Tina's These Moments kit. It inspired me to look for a photo with an equally pure color. I used one I took of a white egret. It looked beautiful, just like the stunning contrast the white flowers in her kit make with the backgrounds. An additional bonus is the nice selection of word art that is included.~Maureen H
*Scraps of Words - Bling WordArt CD by D- DSP Designers I have a very large collection of Tina's word art because it almost always tells the story of my layout much better than I can and in a more artistic way. Her word art on this bling CD adds some bling to any layout. I loved the quote of hers I used on one of my layouts.."Gimme da bling bling, show me the sparkle." Just one example of the fun word art on this CD.~Maureen H
Come Quietly Page Kit by D- Tina Chambers Tina's Come Quietly kit is typical of her style with it's beautiful elements like lace and scalloped edges, yet eclectic with wire and torn notepaper. She manages to put it all together it a way that works so well.~Maureen H
Blossom Bright Page Kit by D- Tina Chambers You know how sometimes a layout will just come together and you'll go WOW I really like this one...well that's what happened when I used Tina's Blossoms Bright kit to create a layout with some of my photos of roses. The elements in this kit are fantastic...from the beautifully decorated photo frames to the gold swag and, my favorite, the swirl word art. Just check out the gorgeous layouts with it.~Maureen H
